Program Description: Two year community college that offers degree & professional certificate programs. The Chelsea Campus specifically offers Medical Coding, Surgical Technology, Central Processing, Computer Technology, CPR for Health Care Providers, ESL, EMT programs, General Education and a Weekend Nursing Program. The Child Focus Center offers child care and pre-school for ages 1.3 to 5. Open to the public.

Program Description: A partnership of parents and families and community organizations providing support services to families. Services include GED, ESL, and computer education. Developmental activities for children, parents and families include: playgroups for various ages, drop in hour for families and Mon’s day out. Parenting classes include: STEP course, coffee hour/sharing experiences, and “Good Guys” program for father child activities. Parents training and personal development workshops: stress management, discipline, child growth and development, nutrition and self esteem.

The Programs include Adult Basic Education; Work Force Development; Community Learning Center (English as a Second Language (ESL) and Citizen Preparation course); Computer Technology; JLSA After-School Program for middle school students; HIV / AIDS Counseling & Support; Citizen & Immigration Services: Special Community Initiatives such as Community Care Day, Hispanic Heritage Celebration & National Latino Aids Awareness Day and Community Thanksgiving Luncheon.

Population Targeted: Adolescents and their families

Program Description: Upward Bound is a year-round program with Chelsea High School students that motivate low-income, at-risk youth to finish school and pursue post-secondary education. A six-week summer residential program involves living and classes at the Merrimack College campus. Summer internships and community service opportunities are available. School year ESL and adult education programs are available for parents. Pregnant and Parenting Teen Program has daily classes individually tailored to each student’s educational needs to secure a high school diploma.

 Population Targeted: Parents/guardians of pre-school and school-age children

Program Description: Classes offered for parents to improve their reading, writing, and English in order to support their children’s learning. Participating parents can receive childcare services for infants and toddlers and supplemental education for preschoolers. Each adult class is staffed by two teachers and three tutors for individual instruction. Pre-school classroom is staff by a teacher and five tutors.

Program Description: Special education and vocational services for behaviorally and academically challenged students and adults. Consultation, professional development and operational services to educators and school administrators. Students receive individualized attention to help them reintegrate into traditional school environments. Facility has professional development and workshop room that can be rented and a half-length gym for community use that is consistent with Shore’s mission.
